The Light We Found

The Light We Found is a movement born from life’s hardest seasons — the moments that break us open, shift our perspective, and force us to see the world differently. It’s about the light we discover after adversity. The light we find in community. The light that appears when life strips everything back to what truly matters. The light rooted in gratitude, resilience, and hope.

The Light We Found was born in January 2026. Almost a year to the day after Laura’s three-year-old daughter, Lola, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. What began as a happy, energetic, and healthy childhood quickly became hospital rooms, exhaustion, and fear. Lola became critically unwell — lethargic, fragile, and unable to do the simple things she once loved. What followed was a year of intensive chemotherapy, surgeries, prolonged hospital stays, and often devastating side effects that pushed the whole family to their limits.

Along the way, Laura became deeply aware of something unexpected: the profound lack of support, awareness, and understanding surrounding what this diagnosis truly does to a family; not just physically, but emotionally, mentally, and socially. The Light We Found exists to change that.

Our mission is to bring awareness to the unseen realities families face during childhood cancer, to create a community rooted in compassion and honesty, and to ensure that no family navigating this journey feels alone, unheard, or unsupported. Because even in the darkest seasons, there is light, and together, we will help others find it.
